Lucan Outing

lucan outing

God only knows what this picture is about, but it appears to be some type of Lucan outing a very long time ago. The only names we have are Harry Vallom (back row, 5th from left), Florrie Murray (front row, 5th from left), and Miss Saunders (front row, 2nd from right). Miss Saunders was one of three sisters who ran a newsagents / sweet shop where Lynch's Londis is now.

Several of the men have some kind of 'flower' in their lapels – perhaps 'tired' shamrocks – though mind you, it must have been a warm day if it was that time of year!

I wonder if anyone can still put names on the picture or enlighten us as to the story behind it. Any ideas, drop us a line or email Mary@lucannewsletter.ie

Many thanks to Frank Murray who turned up another gem for us.
